Volodymyr Zelensky will address Tuesday’s conference “on the resilience and reconstruction of Ukraine” remotely, while the Ukrainian prime minister will also be present.
According to the French presidency, Tuesday’s international conference will be attended by “the heads of state and government, ministers” from 47 countries, as well as UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
The conference follows Emmanuel Macron’s remarks in early December that “guarantees” must be given to Russia to find a “good balance” when the war in Ukraine ends.
His statements caused indignation, mainly in Ukraine and the countries of Eastern Europe. The French Presidency hastened to assure that there is no tension in relations with Kiev.
Volodymyr Zelenskiy proposed in mid-November a 10-point peace plan that addresses Ukraine’s territorial integrity, the fate of prisoners and extends to the country’s food security.
