Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the heads of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, the Kremlin announced today, at a time when Ukrainian territory was the target of massive Russian bombing.
“On Friday, the president spent the entire day at the headquarters of the forces participating in the special military operation” in Ukraine, the Kremlin said in a statement.
Putin specifically held a “meeting” with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov and had “separate meetings with the commanders” of different military units involved in the operation, according to the same source.
“I would like to hear your proposals for our immediate and medium-term actions,” Putin said during the meeting, excerpts of which were broadcast today on Russian state television.
The announcement came as Ukraine was hit yesterday by new Russian missile strikes that caused power outages across the country, according to Ukrainian authorities.
