Threats and provocative rhetoric will only increase tension and help no one, State Department says

The United States regrets the continuation of provocative rhetoric, the State Department notes, regarding new statements by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Responding to a question from the Star TV station about the escalation of rhetoric and the meeting that took place between the two diplomatic advisers and close associates of Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a representative of the State Department underlined that the US encourages these discussions at all levels .

As he said, “at a time when unity is most needed among our allies, the United States regrets the escalation of provocative statements.

Threats and provocative rhetoric will only increase tension and help no one.

The United States welcomes the recent meeting in Brussels between Anna-Maria Boura, diplomatic adviser to Prime Minister Mitsotakis, and İbrahim Kalin, spokesman and chief adviser to President Tayyip Erdogan. We encourage these discussions at all levels.”
