The Russian Defense Minister inspected units of the country’s army in the “special military operation” in Ukraine, Russian services announced on Sunday
The supposed “visit” of the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in “advanced Russian positions” in Ukraine turned out to be more than 80 kilometers away from the front line in Russian-held Crimea, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) reported.
The Russian Defense Minister inspected units of the country’s army in the “special military operation” in Ukraine, Russian services announced on Sunday.
Mr. Soigu “traveled by air to areas where troops are deployed” and “checked advanced positions of Russian units in the zone of the special military operation,” the Russian Defense Ministry said via Telegram.
Meanwhile, the president Volodymyr Zelensky pointed out that Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast remains the “hottest spot” of the entire 1,300km front line as Russian forces relentlessly try to break through Ukraine’s defenses in the city.
The United States is closely monitoring the Russian military presence in Belarus and will continue to do so, White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre said Monday during a briefing.
