A video showing a flight attendant “putting a rude passenger in his place” has been making the rounds on the internet for the past few hours – Wave of support on Twitter
During an IndiGo flight from Istanbul to New Delhi, the flight attendants got into a fight – always politely – with a male passenger who was apparently behaving badly and offensively. The reason was probably the food they served on the plane.
The video was taken by another passenger and shows the flight attendant telling the passenger in a loud voice: “You’re pointing at me and yelling at me. My crew is crying because of you.” He then firmly explains to the passenger that there is a trolley of metered meals and that they can only serve him what he has paid for – holding his boarding pass.
The passenger then asks her why she is yelling and the flight attendant loses her temper and replies “why are you yelling at me!”
Tempers soaring even mid-air: “I am not your servant”

Then another flight attendant enters the middle of the fight and tries to remove her colleague. “I’m sorry but you can’t talk to the crew like that. I listened to you with respect and that’s how you should behave too” continues the stewardess.
The passenger asks when he was disrespectful and while the flight attendant tries to explain, he tells her to “shut up”.
“Shut up,” the now dejected stewardess replies and adds: “I’m sorry, you can’t talk to me like that. I am also an employee here.”
The male passenger tells her that she is a maid, and the flight attendant angrily replies, “I am a servant. I am not your servant!”
Outpouring of support on Twitter
Among the thousands of users who supported the IndiGo flight attendant was Jet Airways CEO Sanjiv Kapoor.
Kapoor commented that he has seen airline crews being abused and slapped and that a lot must have happened for the employee to reach this point.
As I said earlier, crew are human too. It must have taken a lot to get her to breaking point. Over the years I have seen crew slapped and abused on board flights, called “servant” and worse. Hope she is fine despite the pressure she must be under. https://t.co/cSPI0jQBZl

“People say the customer is always right, but you know what? They do not have. Sometimes they’re wrong and they need to be told,” Ryan Air director Michael O’Leary also commented.
