Severe weather has disrupted Americans’ Christmas plans this year – Nearly 4,000 flights canceled since yesterday
More than 200 million Americans, i.e. 60% of the population, are living in unprecedented situations, affected by the historic bad weather or otherwise the “bomb cyclone” as the meteorologists call it that is hitting the United States. The severe bad weather affecting many states has upset the plans of the Americans for this year’s Christmas after almost 4,000 flights have been canceled since yesterday due to the heavy snowfalls, rains and frost. Thousands of homes in Connecticut, New York, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas, North Carolina, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Virginia and Maine are also experiencing severe power outages.
Check out some amazing photos and videos from the bad weather

He said “the cold front crossing the Great Lakes to the Northeast will have a significant impact” on flights, adding that “flight delays are possible from Boston airports to Washington City, Seattle-Tacoma and Portland and Aspen International Airports » in Colorado.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport canceled 40% of flights as of 8:30 am. The FAA earlier today issued cancellations there due to snow and ice. More than 40 percent of flights in Detroit were canceled and 18 percent at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, which noted that wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph were expected in Chicago today. Another 3,800 flights in the US were delayed – including 14% of those operated by American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines. Southwest canceled 800 flights today, about a fifth of all scheduled flights, while Alaska Airlines canceled 321, or 41% of its flights.
