One person was killed and dozens were injured, trapped inside their cars
A man died today in a pile-up involving more than 200 vehicles on the Zhengxin Huanghe Bridge in the Chinese city of Zhengzhou.
The cause of the huge carambola was the dense fog prevailing in the area.

Photos and videos posted on social media showed cars and trucks crashing into each other. In fact, in the middle of the jam, one car is on top of another.

“It’s very scary. There are a lot of people here, I don’t think we can get off the bridge,” someone is heard saying in a short video.
Many of the injured were trapped in their vehicles and the fire department sent 11 vehicles and 66 firefighters to help, state media reported.

CCTV reported that many collisions occurred between passing cars in both directions of the bridge, which is a major crossing of the Yellow River.
Police later closed the bridge to traffic.
