Recent leftist electoral successes around the world have involved the formation of broad coalitions to defeat right-wing or ultra-right candidates.

This was the case in Chile: last Sunday (19), the leftist Gabriel Boric defeated the Pinochetist José Antonio Kast as a candidate for a broad front of left-wing parties, including the Communist Party.

Here in Brazil, former president Lula (PT), leader of the polls for the 2022 election, sews an alliance with former toucan Geraldo Alckmin to defeat President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

In this Tuesday’s (21st) episode, Café da Manhã talks with the columnist from leaf Mathias Alencastro on the different strategies adopted by the left over the last few years and what effects they may still have.
