In Kyiv, a curfew was in place for security reasons, with citizens exchanging wishes from windows as the new year approaches.

Russian missiles were shot down over two districts of Kyiv about thirty minutes after midnight, the mayor of the capital Vitali Klitschko announced via Telegram, clarifying that, according to the first information, there were no casualties.
The military command of Kiev announced that 23 “targets” were destroyed.
