In the film, the French veteran can be seen retreating while an officer’s ration is brandished at him, reliving nightmarish moments from the front.

The enduring horror that thousands of soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) had to experience in their own minds after the First World War is presented in film from 1918, which has been colored by the Instagram channel historyphotographed.

To the French soldier they present the officer’s quotient, which triggers his startled reaction. In the video, the veteran can be seen retreating while being brandished, reliving nightmare moments from the front. It is noted that French (and not only) senior officers led hundreds of their subordinates, focusing on operational objectives, and ignoring the heavy blood tax.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as it is now characterized, is mental disorder which can develop after a person is exposed to a traumatic event, such as sexual assault, war conflict, traffic accidents, child abuse, or other threats to a person’s life.

Symptoms may include disturbing thoughts, feelings, or dreams related to events, mental or physical discomfort in trauma-related emotions, attempts to avoid trauma situations, alterations in a person’s way of thinking and feeling, and increased feelings of escapism
