Israel: Taking measures after the appeal of Palestinians to the International Court of Justice in The Hague

Last week, following an appeal by the Palestinians, the UN General Assembly asked the International Court of Justice in The Hague to issue an opinion on the legal consequences of Israel’s 55-year occupation of the Palestinian territories.

Israel announced today that it will impose a moratorium on some Palestinian construction activities and the use of Palestinian funding to compensate victims of terrorist acts, responding to an appeal by the Palestinian side at the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

The prime minister’s office Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the measures are a “reaction to the Palestinian Authority’s decision to wage a political and legal war against the State of Israel.”
