At least eight people have been killed and many more injured in a landslide at the Astroworld Music Festival in Houston, Texas, local media reported, citing authorities. Reuters.
As of midnight, it was not yet clear what exactly had happened, how many people had been injured or how the injuries had been caused, ABC News reported.
As reported by abc13, the tragedy began around 9:15 p.m., when the crowd of about 50,000 people who had gathered for the concert of rapper Travis Scott, began to move to the front of the stage, according to Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña.
“The crowd started squeezing towards the front of the stage and people started panicking,” Peña said.
Many participants were trampled as people rushed into the concert hall.

The Houston Fire Department earlier said in a tweet that it was near the NRG park, after receiving reports of numerous civilian injuries.
