The top model of the 90s passed away at the age of just 56 – Cindy Crawford’s emotional post
Tatjana Patitz, one of the most famous and beloved models of the 90s, passed away yesterday at the age of 56.
Patitz died after an uneventful battle with breast cancer, her agent Corinne Nicolas told People.
“Needless to say, how devastated we all are by her passing. A compassionate soul, kind, generous and a fanatic animal rights advocate,” he added.
Patitz lived a quiet life, raising her son Zona out of the limelight in California.
Cindy Crawford in her touching post on Instagram wrote among other things: “We were babies together in the fashion industry and I feel like we grew up together. We were on so many photo shoots and behind the scenes of the shows. I found her soft-spoken, sensitive, kind, curious and, who could ever forget those piercing eyes. Her love for animals and nature was contagious.”
The model was an avid equestrian, known for her ecological concerns and actions to save rare species of animals especially wild horses.
Her last Instagram post was in August, celebrating National Dog Day with two sweet snaps of her pups, Matilda and Gatsby.
