Following the shocking news that Tehran executed the British-Iranian Alireza Akbari, the American ambassador in London Jane Hartley said today that the US condemns what she described as the “disgusting” execution in Iran of Akbari.
“The execution of British-Iranian Alireza Akbari in Iran is disgusting and appalling,” Ambassador Jane Hartley tweeted.
“The US joins the UK in condemning this barbaric act.
My thoughts are with Akbari’s family,” added Jane Hartley.
“Shocked” American diplomacy
In the meantime, as it has become known, the American diplomacy is “shocked” by the execution of the British-Iranian Alireza Akbari by the Tehran regime for “espionage” and is on the side of the British government against an “unjust” action.
Arbitrary detention, coercion of confessions and politically motivated executions are absolutely unacceptable and must stop,” said a US State Department spokesperson.
