Judicial sources said 15 people are scheduled to be questioned in February, including top security officials, Ouedat, two former ministers and Hassan Diab, who was prime minister at the time of the blast.

The explosion, which occurred on August 4, 2020was caused by hundreds of tons of ammonium nitrate stored in poor conditions at the port after being unloaded there in 2013. So far, no high-ranking officials have been held accountable.
