Two people were killed and five others injured in a knife attack on a train in Germany on Wednesday. The information is from a spokesman for the German federal police, according to which the alleged assailant was captured by the security forces.
The incident took place around 3 pm local time (11 am GMT), when the train that was going from Hamburg to Kiel was approaching the railway station in Brokstedt, a small town with about 2,000 inhabitants. The suspect was detained when the vehicle arrived at the station, which was closed by police.
Authorities say the suspect’s motivations are unclear at this point. The condition of the injured is also uncertain.
