It will have 54 suites of approximately 70 square meters each, a 1,415 square meter Presidential Suite, two swimming pools, a spa, two restaurants and a speakeasy bar
The Accor hotel group, which in 2017 acquired the Orient Express brandannounced that in 2026 the Orient Express Silenseas intended to be “the world’s largest sailing ship”. Measuring 220 meters long, it will be designed by the architect Maxime d’Angeac, who is redesigning the legendary Orient Express train, and the Stirling Design International studio.
It will be a continuation of the luxury trains: 54 suites with an area of about 70 square meters each, a 1,415 square meter Presidential Suite, two swimming pools, a spa, two restaurants and a speakeasy bar. Built at Chantiers de l’Atlantique, it will have three sails of 1,500 meters each and a liquefied natural gas engine.
“The interior design embodies a perfect balance between past and future. It’s a tribute to the Golden Years of the French Riviera, with very futuristic lines and great technological innovation,” said D’Angeac, speaking to Dezeen. “It perfectly embodies the Orient Express brand which, with its 140-year history, has always been a pioneer.”
