Three dead and more than 300 injured are the number so far from the strong earthquake of magnitude 5.9 that hit northwest Iran shortly after 8 yesterday evening, Greek time.

According to the official IRNA news agency, this account was announced by the head of the emergency response service in the city of Hoi An, near the epicenter of the earthquake.

According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center the epicenter of the earthquake was 105 km northwest of the city of Orumiya and the focal depth at 15 km
