In total, almost 20,000 people have been arrested. More than 100 of them face the death penalty
The bloodshed continues in Iran. At least 527 people have lost their lives in the country since anti-government protests began more than four months ago, according to the US-based Human Rights Activists news agency.
Among them are 71 minors and 70 members of the police and other security forces, according to the organization’s account.

The wave of national protest was sparked by the death in custody of Makhsa Amini on September 16, 2022.
The Iranian woman of Kurdish origin was arrested by the morality police for wearing her hijab incorrectly.
According to the same source, the protests have spread in 160 cities outside the capital Iran.
Iranian authorities have not yet released information on the total number of deaths and arrests. Protests in Iran continue, despite brutal repression by the regime, mainly in areas where the Sunni population is the majority.
