Israeli forces shoot two Hezbollah fighters near Syrian border, killing one of them

A fighter of the Iranian-backed Hezbollah he was killed and another was injured when they tried to penetrate on the Israeli side of the Golan Heights from Syria.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the Hezbollah gunmen they were probably conducting a reconnaissance mission and attempting to mine the Israeli side of the border when they were spotted.

The Israeli army announced that two gunmen were shot and that one was killed while the injured was being treated by the soldiers.

The Golan Heights, or Golan Heights, is a strategically important area 60 km long and 25 km wide, which Israel captured in the 1967 Seven-Day War and annexed in 1981.

However, this was not recognized internationally. Based on international law, the area is considered Syrian territory under Israeli occupation.

Syria had then characterized Trump’s decision as a “blatant attack” on its sovereignty.

Israel is bombing often targets in the neighboring country in an effort to prevent its nemesis, Iran, from expanding its influence there.

Iran and its ally, the Lebanese group Hezbollah, are important allies of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, whose forces have been fighting forces trying to topple his regime since 2011.
