The case of a 23-year-old woman from Germany who killed her lifeguard to pretend she was dead is not just a prank
Sick pranks of people who have staged their own death to see how friends and acquaintances will react have become known several times.
However, the case of a 23-year-old woman from Germany who killed her lifeguard to pretend she was dead is not just a farce.
The horrific crime also involving another 23-year-old victim happened last summer but German police only arrested Sharaban K. as a suspect last week.
Sharaban K met her fiance and beauty blogger Khadidja O. through Instagram and – according to German police – ran her over and left her dead in the back of her car. Then the 23-year-old accused murderer, along with her boyfriend Sheqir K and her accomplice in crime, disappeared.
The crime
According to police investigating the case, Sharaban K. met Khadidja O. via Instagram last summer, sending her messages about cosmetics.
The 23-year-old lured her victim into a meeting with the excuse that she wanted to give her a set of beauty products.
On the day of the crime, Sharaban K. told her parents that she was going to visit her ex-husband in Munich. Instead, she and her boyfriend Sheqir K. allegedly picked up Khadidja O. in a Mercedes.
At some point, investigators believe they turned into a forest where Khadidja O. was stabbed more than 50 times.
In fact, the injuries on her face were so severe that she could not be recognized.

Sharaban K and her boyfriend then disappeared and at first authorities thought the dead girl in the car was her.
When the true identity of the victim was proven through DNA, then the tangle of the murder began to unravel.
The police looked into all of Sharaban K’s social media contacts, and found that she had been in contact with many of her girlfriends.
According to the authorities the 23-year-old rising influencer had murdered one of them – the unfortunate Khadidja O – in an attempt to fake her death in order to “escape family problems and disputes”.
Eventually, Sharaban K. was located and arrested. This week she was formally charged with murder and faces up to life in prison if convicted of the gruesome crime.
