Properties belonging to former Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and prominent businessmen are among those seized
Russian-appointed authorities in Crimea said today they had nationalized about 500 properties on the peninsula, including some belonging to high-ranking Ukrainian politicians and prominent businessmen.
In a statement on Telegram, Vladimir Konstantinov, speaker of the Crimean Parliament, said the decree targets “collaborators of the Kiev regime” and that nationalized properties include banks, tourism and sports infrastructure.
According to a document published on a Crimean government website, properties belonging to former Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and businessmen Igor Kolomoisky, Rinat Akhmetov and Serhii Taruta are among those seized.
Crimea, internationally recognized as part of Ukraine, has been under Moscow’s control since 2014, when Russia unilaterally annexed the peninsula.
