Six Suspects Arrested in the United States, Britain and Germany – Those arrested are said to have been administrators, developers or moderators of three Dark Web platforms
After a multi-year investigation, the Bavarian police dismantled an international child pornography ring and shut down three Dark Web platforms.
Six suspects were arrested in the United States, Britain and Germany, the Bavarian Criminal Investigation Division (BLKA) and the German state’s Cybercrime Prosecutor (ZCB) said in a statement on Friday.
The arrested were allegedly administrators, developers or moderators of the platforms in question, according to the German authorities.
Thousands of users from Germany and other countries had accessed the illegal sites, which averaged around 120,000 posts and 20,000 child pornography photos and videos per month.
A 22-year-old with a coordinating role on such a platform, who was arrested in Germany at the end of last year, remains in custody, the statement said.
In the course of the investigation, more than 30 users of child pornography trafficking sites were identified by BLKA investigators.
