EU Emergency Response Coordination Center coordinates deployment of rescue teams from Europe
EE activated the Civil Protection Mechanism after the earthquake that occurred on the border of Turkey and Syria, while teams from the Netherlands and Romania are on their way.
In particular, Crisis Management Commissioner Yanes Lenarcic said in a post on Twitter: “After the earthquake in Turkey this morning, we activated the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. The EU Emergency Response Coordination Center is coordinating the deployment of rescue teams from Europe. Teams from Netherlands and Romania it’s already on its way.”

“The EU expresses its full solidarity,” European Council President Charles Michel said in a tweet after the earthquake on the Turkey-Syria border.

The European Union is ready to offer help after the deadly and devastating earthquake that hit Turkey in the early hours, Neighborhood and Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varkheli said on Twitter.
“Shocking to hear about the huge impact of the earthquake that killed so many people in Turkey and Syria. My deepest condolences to the families and I wish a speedy recovery to the injured. We are ready to send help in these difficult times” said Mr. Varheli.
