The Ukrainian president is expected to attend the summit of European leaders as a guest and address the European Parliament

French President Emmanuel Macron’s invitation to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky – which led to yesterday’s meeting in Paris – was described as “absurd” by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, upon her arrival in Brussels to take part in the European Union Summit.

“Our strength must be in unity. Our support to Ukraine is complete, Italy wants to play a leading role in the reconstruction phase as well,” Meloni added.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to attend the summit of European leaders as a guest and address the European Parliament.

For his part, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz today emphasized his country’s support for Ukraine, attending the summit.

“Germany is the country of the European Union that provides Ukraine with ‘the most economic and humanitarian support but also the most tangible support in terms of arms deliveries,'” he said.

The meeting is an opportunity to “send this message of unity, solidarity once again and to show that we will continue our support for Ukraine, in defense of its independence and integrity, for as long as it takes,” Soltz said. .
