The US has released more than 10 high altitude balloons from May 2022which then illegally flew into the airspace of China and that of other countries, the representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today.

“The US needs to do a thorough investigation and give China an explanation for this,” noted today Wang Wenbin in regular briefing of the journalists.

At the same time the US military announced that the US recovered significant parts of the Chinese balloon’s sensors and electronic equipment which was shot down in early February.

“(Survey) teams were able to recover significant debris at the site, including all priority sensors and identified electronic components, as well as large parts of the structure” of the downed balloon, they said in a statement issued yesterday, Monday, to publicity the US armed forces.

For Washington, there is no doubt that it was a Chinese spy balloon, which entered US airspace for several days before it was shot down. However, Beijing asserts for its part that it is an airship for civilian purposes that was used for research purposes, mainly meteorological.

That balloon was shot down on February 4 by an F-22 fighter jet off South Carolina, and teams were immediately deployed offshore to retrieve its debris from the sea.

Since then American fighter jets have shot down three mysterious flying objectsone over Alaska in the northwestern US, another over the Yukon in northwestern Canada, and a third over Lake Huron in the northern US.
