Part of the long-awaited report on whether former President Donald Trump and allies was released today they broke the law in their attempt to reverse his electoral defeat.

The “green light” was given by Fulton County Judge Robert McBurney who asked that only part of it be published, not the whole thing. The report summarizes a two-year investigation by the 26-member special jury, including three alternates, into former President Donald Trump’s actions in Georgia after the 2020 election.

The report states that the majority of the special jury believes that some witnesses committed perjury in their testimony to the committee.

“A majority of the grand jury believes that perjury may have been committed by one or more of the witnesses testifying before it,” the report said.

The grand jury also recommended that the county attorney “seek appropriate charges for such crimes where the evidence is compelling.”

To date, no formal charges have been brought against Trump or any of his associates. The special court cannot issue charges, but it can recommend that charges be laid.

No former president has been impeached in US history.
