A police operation is underway in the area La Défense of Paris, French Interior Minister Géral Darmanin announced on Twitter on Saturday. There are reports of an explosion and shooting at the well-known Westfield Les Quatre Temps mall that have not been verified.

According to French media, panic broke out in the mall when what sounded like an explosion, with citizens starting to run in panic towards the exit. So far, however, there are no indications that someone opened fire. In the video, an injured person can be seen lying on the floor receiving first aid, but the injury may have come from an accident. Information indicates that the injured is a 37-year-old man who has been shot.

The Paris police department earlier posted a tweet advising citizens to avoid the area. The Paris police department did not provide further details in its tweet.
