He died at the age of 78, the protagonist of the successful police series Law and Order, Richard Belzer. The unconventional actor was an iconic figure of the Law and Order series, familiar to Greek TV viewers, even though many did not know his name.

He is known for his role as the detective character John Munch, which he played in… 11 different series of Law and Order. He also appeared in the first series of Law and Order. He died at his home in the early hours of Sunday in Bozouls in southwestern France.

Belzer was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he said he began performing as a comedian trying to make his mother, who physically abused him, to laugh. “I had to make my mom laugh or I’d take my a**,” was featured in People magazine in 1993. But before starting his Hollywood career, Belzer held various non-acting jobs, including a reporter for the Bridgeport Post and a census taker.

In his personal life, he was a fan of conspiracy theories, writing four different books about his beliefs. He had once characterized the bombing of the Boston Marathon as a “false flag event”.

She was married three times, while she sued the professional wrestler Kats Hulk Hogan (Hulk Hogan). The actor had asked the professional wrestler to appear on his show in 1985, a few days before the WrestleMania event. When he asked Hogan to show him one of his signature moves, Hogan gave him a hold that knocked him out. When Hogan finally released him, Belzer fell to the floor and hit his head, resulting in his injury and hospitalization.

He sued Hogan for $5 million and finally the two men settled out of court.

Belzer had battled cancer, which he overcame. He retired from acting in 2016 and has been living in the South of France for the last few years.
