“For us it is important that China does not support the Russian Federation in this war,” Zelensky said in an interview with German newspaper Die Welt.
THE Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky he warned her China in today’s interview not to support Russia in the war which the latter conducts against Ukraine and added that, if it does, world war will break out.
Zelensky made the comments as China said the United States was unable to make demands, after the US secretary of state warned his Chinese counterpart over the weekend not to supply Russia with weapons for its war in Ukraine. However, the Chinese government denied for its part today that it wants to supply weapons to Russia.
“For us it is important that China does not support the Russian Federation in this war,” Zelensky said in an interview with the German newspaper Die Welt. “Actually I would like China to be on our side. At the moment, however, I do not believe that this is possible.”
“But I think it’s an opportunity for China to make a realistic assessment of what’s happening here,” the Ukrainian president added. “Because if China allies with Russia, there will be a world war and I think China knows that.”
Regarding Moldova, Zelenskiy told Die Welt that Ukraine had passed on information to Moldovan President Maya Sandu indicating that Russia was planning a coup in Moldova.
“Maya Sandu never asked me for help, but she thanked me for the information. He knows our situation very well. Ukraine will always be ready to help Moldova,” he added.
The Kremlin said today that Russia’s relations with Moldova are very strained and accused Moldovan leaders of pursuing an anti-Russian agenda, a week after Chisinau said it had foiled a Russian coup attempt.
