A student killed a high school teacher with a knife in the French Basque Country, the prosecutor’s office announced.
“I confirm that there was a knife attack and that the victim succumbed,” said prosecutor Jerome Bourrier.
The student was arrested.

The attack took place at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic high school in Saint-Jean-de-Lys, according to the news website Actu.fr.
According to the newspaper Sud Ouest, the victim is a 50-year-old Spanish language teacher. While she was teaching a lesson, a student broke into the classroom armed with a knife and attacked her.

On September 13, 2022, a 15-year-old student stabbed a high school teacher in Caen in Normandy in the neck.
The 63-year-old professor was released from the hospital a few days later, while the perpetrator of the attack, who is accused of attempted murder, is being held under medical observation.
