The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulidis, leaving the Presidential Palace, he answered questions from journalists in relation to the criticisms he receives for the Council of Ministers and specifically for the appointment of Michalis Hatzigiannis and the reports that the outgoing Yiannis Toumazis was not given time to complete the work he started at the Deputy Ministry of Culture.

Mr. Christodoulidis reminded that the members of the current Council of Ministers had publicly signed that they did not wish to be members of a possible government of his own and made it clear that when someone makes such a statement in public, he must respect it.

From then on, noted Mr. Hatzigiannis “he is an accomplished artist who will be judged daily, and I ask you to be strict with him as you are with all of us, from the work he will offer through the Deputy Ministry of Culture”.

During his speech in Parliament, the new president of the Republic stated that “the goal is to jointly achieve the upgrading of institutional cooperation through specific actions for the benefit of the citizen.
