Ghislaine Maxwell will appeal her conviction for child trafficking and forcing women into prostitution claiming that her “inhumane” treatment left her physically unable to defend herself in her legal battle

DailyMail.com can reveal that Maxwell will claim she couldn’t help herself in her plea in court because the bleak conditions at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where she was held before her trial, left her exhausted.

The appeal will suggest that was why she did not testify during her trial for promoting and trafficking underage girls to Jeffrey Epstein.

The appeal, which is expected to run to hundreds of pages, must be filed by the end of the day in New York federal court, where Maxwell was found guilty last January after a trial.

Personality of the international jet-setGhislaine Maxwell is accused of recruiting young girls, some of them minors, on behalf of Jeffrey Epstein, who died in prison in August 2019.

In January 2023, after a hearing the daughter of former media mogul Robert Maxwell asked to be released on bail.

She proposed the amount of 5 million dollars.

However, Manhattan U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss opposed Maxwell’s request for bail, saying she was a flight risk.

With a large fortune and multiple passports, Ghislaine Maxwell also has, according to the prosecution, an overseas dating network that will allow her to easily leave the US.

Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested in New Hampshire on July 2nd.

She faces six charges, including four counts of trafficking minors for unlawful sexual acts between 1994 and 1997 and two counts of perjury.

If found guilty of all charges against her, the 58-year-old faces up to life in prison.

“Innocent, Your Honor,” Maxwell said when asked by the court about her plea to the charges against her.
