A “mini” reorganization of his government was carried out by Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevsky.

The main feature of the new government scheme is that it includes the until recently opposition party “Alliance for Albanians” with three ministers (Health, Justice and Public Administration), while the Albanian party “Alternative”, which controlled three ministries (Health and Public Administration and a ministry without portfolio for Diaspora issues).

The new government will not include the Minister of Environment until yesterday, Nasser Nuredini (from Ali Ahmet’s Albanian DUI party) who will be replaced by Kaya Sukova, who comes from the Social Democratic Party (SDSM) of Dimitar Kovacevsky.

The new government ministers were approved by the Parliament with 65 votes (out of the 120 that counts the whole Parliament).

Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevsky, announcing the reshuffle of his government, stated that his goal is to strengthen the parliamentary majority, in order to strengthen the country’s European perspective.

However, the result of the vote does not seem to justify him, as 65 MPs were in favor of the new government scheme, while the previous scheme had the support of 64 MPs.

The largest opposition party, VMRO-DPMNE voted against the new government and reiterated its demand for early parliamentary elections in the country.
