A group of French trade unionists on Wednesday voiced their opposition to his pension reform plan Emmanuel Macron “invading” the Louvre Museum. The cultural wing of the trade union General Confederation of Labor (CGT), CGT-Culture, shared a video of the protest on Twitter. The video shows a group waving CGT flags and chanting: “We will take it until the withdrawal (of the reform project)” as they walked through the halls of the museum.

Nationwide protests took place in Paris and other cities for the sixth time since January, after the pension reform plan sparked public outrage when it was announced last year.

The trade unions decided to extend the strikes and demonstrations by mobilizing women’s groups on 8 March and youth groups on 9 March.

They have also set new mobilization days for March 11 and 15, in a statement released on Twitter. The controversial plan includes raising the retirement age from 62 to 64 in 2030 with 43 years of work to qualify for a full pension.
