The warning specifically concerns Wales, where, as reported, there will be a “potential danger to human life” from midday Thursday until Friday morning.

In the south of England, including London, light snow on Wednesday is followed by heavy rain, which is expected to continue into next week.

All this while -16C was recorded in the Altnahara region of the Scottish Highlands on Wednesday night, making yesterday the coldest March night in the UK since 2010.

In the north of the country he studies a lota remain closed.

The weather phenomenon due to a mass of cold air from the Arctic will begin to recedes from Friday afternoon.
