A shocking video from the massacre in Hamburg is publicized by the BBC. The video was taken by an eyewitness and appears to show a person shooting through a window at the Jehovah’s Witness center who appears to be the perpetrator of the attack.

According to the first information from the German Authorities, the gunman acted alone and is believed to be among the dead of the attack.

As the police announced on Friday morning, eight people died on Thursday night from the attack and many were injured. The attacker was aged between 30 and 40 and was not known to authorities as an extremist, according to German magazine Der Spiegel. There is currently no official information on the possible motive of the attacker, however it is assumed that he was a former member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses community.

“Eight people were fatally injured, including the suspected attacker”Hamburg police said in a statement, adding that several were injured, “some seriously.”

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, a former mayor of Hamburg, described the carnage as an “act of violence”. The Jehovah’s Witness community in Germany said its members were targeted in a “horrific attack”. David Semonian, a spokesman for the US-based Jehovah’s Witnesses, said members are “universally grieving the victims of this traumatic event”.
