The scenario of a father gunning down his three young daughters and his wife and then setting their house on fire is being considered

“After two days of intensive investigations, the scenario of a family drama is most likely according to the prosecutor in charge of the criminal investigation and the investigators,” Beau canton police said in a statement.
The house, located at Yverdon-le-Bainsa town on the shores of Lake Nesatel in the Beau canton, was rocked in the early hours of Thursday by a powerful explosion, before being destroyed by flames.
The bodies of the family members who lived there – the 45-year-old father, the 40-year-old mother and their three daughters, aged 5, 9 and 13 – were found in the wreckage.
Each of the victims bore bullet wounds.
“A weapon was found near the father who may be the perpetrator of the other four homicides before he took his own life,” emphasized the police, who for now rule out “the involvement of a third party.”
The cause of the fire has not yet been officially established, but the police spoke of “the presence of a large amount of gasoline in the various rooms of the house.”
