According to the investigative journalism website The Insider, at least three areas where air defense systems will be installed have appeared in Moscow. One of these three plots is located on the territory of the experimental fields of the Moscow Academy of Agricultural Economy, Timiryazev. According to the information of investigative journalists, S-400 anti-aircraft systems and 92N6Е and 96L6Е radar systems have been installed in this area.

The second area is located in the protected park “Losinii Ostrav”. Local authorities responding to the indignation of residents and environmentalists stated that the construction of the military facilities is related to “ensuring the national security of the Russian Federation”. At this site, as at the site of the Timiriazev Academy, S-400 surface-to-air missile systems and 92N6E radar systems are installed several hundred meters from residential complexes.

The third area selected in the Petchatniki location is an area of 1,000 acres in front of the Kolomenskoye protected-museum area. Work on the installation of the anti-aircraft defense systems began next to the Church of the Ascension, which has been included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

“We are all shocked. And you do nothing. The builders were given a month to cover everything with asphalt. Anti-aircraft defense systems will be installed here,” local police men told a local resident. She wanted to call the police herself, but was told not to bother. “Don’t you understand where these decisions are made?” the police officer told the resident.

As the site’s journalists point out, the city and municipal authorities are still silent, despite hundreds of letters of protest sent by residents. The Russian Ministry of Defense also did not comment on the information about the deployment of air defense systems on the territory of Moscow.
