Erdogan pressured to find allies to win election – Turkey considers Hezbollah a terrorist organization
Pressed to find allies in the Islamic parties to win the elections o Tayyip Erdogan reportedly accepted the withdrawal of the law that protects women from abuse, reports SKAI’s Istanbul correspondent Manolis Kostidis.
The Islamic New Prosperity party allied with Tayyip Erdogan and called for the law to be withdrawn. “They accepted all our terms” the Islamists typically report, with the government not responding.
Based on the opinion polls, Erdogan is lagging behind his opponent Kemal Kilicdaroglu supported by the opposition bloc of “six”.
It is noted that two years ago Turkey withdrew from the Istanbul Convention (2011), which obliges governments around the world to make efforts to prevent and combat violence against women.
And… Hezbollah
Erdogan does not stop there. The Turkish opposition accuses him of allying with the HUDA-PAR party, that is, as he typically emphasizes “with the supporters and political wing of the terrorist organization Hezbollah” which Turkey considers a terrorist organization.
“Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan, in order to continue to remain in power, puts in his alliance the party that has a direct relationship with Hezbollah!” said Bahadir Erdem, vice president of the Good Party.
For his part, the president of HUDA-PAR Zekergia Yapizioglou insists that the “Hezbollah is not a terrorist organization, but it defends itself when attacked.”
