According to a new Forbes report jay-z continues to be the richest living rapper, with his property now amounting to 2.5 billion dollars.

Although the report doesn’t give more details, it notes that the fortune of the man born in Brooklyn, New York as Shawn Carter (Shawn Carter) 53 years ago extends beyond music.

“Even for a year without a tour or album release, Jay-Z earns millions from ‘Armand de Brignac’ champagne and ‘D’Usse’ cognac it reports. “He is the first hip-hop artist to be crowned a billionaire by Forbes in 2019, thanks to an extensive and diverse empire” listing assets from his Roc Nation entertainment and sports empire to his art collection that includes works by Jean-Michel Basquiat (Jean-Michel Basquiat).

Last month, as Variety reports, while attending the Grammy Awards he also settled a months-long legal dispute with one of the world’s largest liquor companies over D’Usse cognac.

Barcardi acquired the majority stake, which is said to be worth around $750 million – which has been a key factor in the increase in his fortune since last year. According to a related press release, the rapper continues to have a “significant ownership stake” in it.
