Ukrainian activists announced they hacked the online account of a Russian volunteer in the war with Ukraine who was buying drones for Moscow’s forces – and squandered the money on… sex aids. The group Kiber Sprotyv (Cyber Resistance) announced that it targeted the AliExpress account of Mikhail Luchin — a friend of the pro-Russian military blogger Vladlen Tatarsky (aka Maxim Fomin), who was killed in an explosion in a St. Petersburg cafe on Sunday.

Luchin was raising money to buy drones for use by Russian troops in the war in Ukraine. “He is a war criminal, volunteer, blogger and now owner of vibrators”, the hackers said sarcastically in a statement, posting snapshots of themselves using Luchin’s account on AliExpress, a Chinese online store. The Ukrainians claimed to have bought sex aids worth $25,000via Luchin’s account They added that Luchin now owned a “unique” collection of “phallus” worth $25,000, money he “planned to spend on drones for the Russian military.” “Now instead of drones, he should send trucks full of vibrators, strap-ons and other valuable things for the Russian people,” they say sarcastically.

Luchin confirmed that his email and AliExpress account were hacked by the Ukrainians, but claimed that he was able to get back most of the money that had been spent — apart from sex aids worth 17,000 rubles (€195). The Russian also said it was “sad” that there aren’t “enough Kalibr missiles” to hit the hackers. In response, Kiber Sprotyv said that Luchin was lying about the refund. Later, Luchin wrote a second Telegram post in which he said he would open up a… sex shop in Russia and will buy even more drones than originally planned.
