The religious ceremony of the “Way of the Cross”, the Catholic Good Friday, is underway in Rome.
In the afternoon, it was announced by the Vatican that Pope Francis is going to attend the ceremony from the monastery of Saint Martha in the Vatican, where he lives, because of the drop in temperature in the last few hours.
The pontiff was reportedly released from the hospital a week ago and doctors advised him not to undergo excessive stress in order to heal the chronic bronchitis he was diagnosed with.

The reflections of two young people from Ukraine and Russia stand out: the former was forced to leave Mariupol in order to save himself, while the latter lost his brother, only eighteen years old, at the front.
The faithful, however, who went to the Colosseum, at this time, also hear the story of a woman who, in South America, was injured by landmines, as well as the immigrant who lived terrifying experiences in a detention center in Libya. Each of these testimonies, as the commentators underline, contributes to presenting today’s difficult reality, “the Third World War in different phases”, to which the pontiff has repeatedly referred. Francis, this afternoon, in St. Peter’s, asked all the rulers, on our planet, to do everything possible to promote peace. It must be mentioned, finally, that after each reflection, reference is made to the possibility of reconciliation and peaceful coexistence of people, regardless of religion, ethnicity and beliefs.
