A Palestinian was killed by live fire from Israeli forces in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced today.

Ahed Salim, 20, was killed by (Israeli) “occupation” bullets in the chest and abdomen in the Azun district, near the city of Qalqiyya, during a clash between soldiers and a group of Palestinians, according to the ministry’s brief statement. , in which no further details are given.

The Israeli military has not currently responded to a request for comment on this information.

The incident comes after several days of violence in the Middle East.

A car bomb attack in Tel Aviv on Friday night killed an Italian and injured seven people, according to Israeli police.

Earlier on Friday, two Israeli-British sisters were killed in another Palestinian attack in the West Bank, Palestinian territory occupied by Israel since 1967.

The new flare-up of violence comes after Israeli forces stormed the Al-Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem on Wednesday, in the midst of Ramadan, which drew widespread backlash and condemnation.

Since early January, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has claimed the lives of at least 92 Palestinians, 18 Israelis, one Ukrainian and one Italian, according to an AFP tally based on official Israeli and Palestinian sources.
