The Serbian government’s office for Kosovo considers it certain that Kosovar policemen fired and accuses the government of Albin Kurti of trying to intimidate and terrorize the Serbian population in Kosovo.
New tension in Northern Kosovo after the shooting of a Serb.
The victim, Milan Jovanovic, was shot at midnight yesterday, Monday, minutes after he drove his car through a police roadblock near the town of Zvečan.
He was seriously injured, taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery. The North Mitrovica hospital announced that he had a penetrating wound from a firearm projectile on the left side of the chest.
His health condition today is stable and his life is not in danger.
He told Serbian media that he did not know where the shots came from, but said that the incident happened within the area where the “Bistrica” military-police base is located in the city of Zvečan. The Kosovo Police Command announced that “there was no police involvement last night in a shooting incident.”
The Serbian government’s office for Kosovo considers it certain that Kosovar policemen fired and accuses the government of Albin Kurti of trying to intimidate and terrorize the Serbian population in Kosovo.
“Kurti violates all agreements and with various provocations tries to provoke the reaction of the Serbs. It is obvious that the tensions and the crisis only serve Pristina to avoid the implementation of the agreement on the establishment of the Union of Serbian Municipalities,” said the head of the office for Kosovo, Petar Petkovic.
