The 50-year-old told officers her son Matthew had been “crying and whining all day” about their financial problems
A heinous crime has shocked the community of Horsham in Pennsylvania, USA. A 50-year-old mother killed her 11-year-old son and then fled to New Jersey, where she was arrested by the police.
Ruth Dirienzo-Whitehead – a realtor by profession – strangled the boy in his sleep with one of her husband’s belts because, she told authorities, she did not want him to grow up in poverty and destitution.
She explained to officers that her son, Matthew, had been “crying and whining all day” about their financial problems.
