Attempted assassination of President Putin claimed to have been foiled by Moscow.

According to Russian news agencies, the Kremlin announced that it had stopped a drone attack on the presidential residence.

The Russian Defense Ministry said 2 Ukrainian drones attempted to target President Vladimir Putin’s residence last night at around 3am in an apparent “assassination attempt” by drones, which were shot down using Electronic Warfare systems.

“We consider these actions a terrorist attempt and an attack on the life of the president” Vladimir Putin, the Russian presidency announced, with Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarifying that Putin was not at the presidential residence and that there was no material damage in the Kremlin.

“Russia reserves its right to retaliate where and when it deems appropriate,” the Russian presidency added.

The RIA news agency reported that Putin was not in the Kremlin at the time of the “drone attack” and that the Russian president is currently working in Novo Ogaryovo, on the outskirts of Moscow.

“The Kremlin reserves the right to respond when and as it deems appropriate,” the Intefax agency emphasizes for its part.

According to the Russian media, this is another wave of attacks launched by the Ukrainian forces with drones aimed at Russian territory.
