Emergency legislation that came into force on Wednesday expands UK police powers as part of the security operation for the coronation ceremony of King Charles and Queen Camilla on Saturday.

Protesters who will block roads or obstruct traffic in airports and on the rail network they will face each other with imprisonment of up to one year. Also the police shall have the right of physical control anyone suspected of causing a disturbance.

Protesters who will attached with instant glue to buildings or objects they will be imprisoned for up to six months.

In addition, facial recognition technology will be used to identify individuals who have employed or are employed by law enforcement.

These measures are set out in a letter from the competent Ministry of the Interior to various activist organizations.

The police coverage of the ceremony is codenamed “Operation Golden Globe”. It is estimated that in total for the three days of celebrations 29,000 police officers will be used. 11,500 will be on duty on the day of the coronation alone, in what London’s Metropolitan Police are describing as “the biggest one-day police mobilization in decades” in the country.

Among them will be included snipers who will have been shot on the roofs of buildings and many plainclothes policemen among the crowd. Also during the ritual on Saturday the air traffic area will be closed above London.

Security authorities tested their reflexes with the arrest on Saturday night of a man who threw objects in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace.

The operation is aimed at preventing a terrorist attack and any attempt against members of the royal family by suspects being monitored by the Monarchy-obsessed Threat Assessment Center’s special unit.

In addition, however, the operation also focuses on preventing incidents from two other specific groups of protesters, the members of the anti-monarchy organization Republic and the environmental organization Just Stop Oil.

The former are expected to gather around 1,600 people in Trafalgar Square with slogans in favor of the overthrow of the monarchy, but in a peaceful protest.

As for environmental activists, according to reports there has been thought to cause a disturbance by scaring the horses participating in the procession, with the risk of causing an accident.

Security will be heightened around Westminster Abbey not only for members of the royal family, British officials and around one hundred heads of state, but also due to the presence of the priceless gems that adorn the symbols of royal authority that will be used in ceremony. These symbols and jewels will be transferred from the high security Tower of London.
