A shocking video was released as security cameras recorded a gang smashing shop windows, using sledgehammers, at a mall in California – snatching jewelry worth about $ 100,000.
The gang of nine criminals broke into the mall and after threatening customers and staff holding hammers in their hands, asked customers and employees to fall to the floor.
The video from January 3 shows the gang breaking glass windows and throwing the jewelry in bags.
The robbers remained in the mall for 30 seconds and quickly left in a hurry to avoid arrest. In fact, when they left, two of the hammers they were holding fell to the floor.
The owners of the mall’s stores said that last week a gang of robbers had tried to break into the mall when they were spotted by a security guard and locked the doors before they could enter.
San Jose police authorities are concerned about rising crime with gangs invading malls and threatening customers and employees.
