On October 13, 2022, in total 24 soldiers were killed in an attack near Damascus attributed to the jihadist group, which continues to launch attacks in Syria despite its defeat on the ground in 2019.

in Damascus, explosions have often targeted military vehicles or civilians without being able to determine their origin.

On April 2nda car bomb exploded in the Mezeh district, home to the United Nations headquarters and foreign embassies, injuring two people, according to the interior ministry.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which is based in Britain and has a vast network of sources in Syria, these incidents are due to settling scores in a country torn by war.

The conflict in Syria erupted in 2011 due to the crackdown on pro-democracy protests.

With the involvement of regional and international actors, it has caused an estimated half a million deaths.
